Going through our first mock draft, it crossed my mind that Philly might be interested in trading down in the first round. I looked at the potential players at pick #22 and realized there wasn't an immediate need for Philly at that spot. Their immediate needs are at linebacker and safety. I do not think they choose a cornerback in the first round, so the top prospects at both of those positions can be had later in the first (pick 29 - possible trade with Detroit) or early second. If Detroit explores trading with Philly, Philly could pick up Detroit's 3rd round pick (Philly doesn't currently have one). This would allow Philly to take a player like Tyler Nubin, safety from Minnesota, later in the 1st while picking up a 3rd. That 3rd round pick could easily be spent on a linebacker, such as Junior Colson, Jeremiah Trotter, Jr. (which I believe they will do anything to get him), or a guy like Zak Zinter, guard from Michigan. Stay tuned.
